EPILOGUE It seems very appropriate that the building is moving into its retirement in its sixty-fifth year, but I am very aware that this retirement will be short. The land should be sold very early in the New Year and demolition well under way in early spring. When the building does go, it will leave a hole in the geography of Tile Hill and to some people it will be a great loss, especially to those people who are able to hang fond memories around its walls. Over the years there have been a great many tragedies and celebrations in the lives of people, who have worked, studied or sent their children here. I hope that as a school we have been able to provide support through the bad times and joined in with commemorating the good. In reading this book and meeting so many people who look back at Templars’ with such affectionate recollections, what has struck me most forcibly is that it is not the bricks and mortar which has been so important, but the relationships between pupils, staff and parents. It is this which has stood the test of time and I am sure will continue to do so in our new surroundings.
