TileHillKid.UK - Tile Hill College [of Further Education]

Tile Hill College opened in 1969.Classes at the college included O' and A'level students, Warwickshire Police Cadets, Trainee Nurses, and Apprentice Motor Vehicle Engineers.

It was a very happy environment that brought together a mix of students from all parts of Coventry and Warwickshire, including a 'melting pot' of ex-Grammar, Comprehensive, and Secondary School pupils. Ex-Tile Hill College people look back with great memories.

Running ... often, I used to run home, but it wasn't until later life I realised my timings were pretty good ... for example, the run home of 1.5 miles in 8 minutes seemed normal to me, but that was over 11mph. From College, I used to run to Tile Hill Village and back in about 15 minutes, and that included a pretty steep uphill towards Tile Hill School. On a measured 3 mile course I finished in 25 minutes. 400m in 1 minute 15 seconds. A measured mile in just under 5 minutes. That's more like 11-12 mph. So on the longer distances, my timings put me in the top 10%. On the shorter distances, the timings put me in the top 1%.So I may have managed a Marathon in 3 hours 15 minutes, but I never ran one.
